TRACK & FIELD - Two (2) Dragons Win Silver and Bronze Medals at the adidas Golden West Invitational

Damantee’ James sprinted to a second place silver medal finish by only .07 seconds in the Boys 100-meter dash (Freshman) while recording a personal and season best time of 11.19 seconds. As well, he broke the current GWI meet record while posting the fastest non-winning time ever in the Boys 100-meter dash event!
Tori Mason competed in both the Girls 100 and 300-meter hurdles (Varsity). She achieved a personal, season and school record shattering best time of 15.05 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles while placing 4th by only .01 seconds! In the 300-meter hurdles event she completed a great tactical race while taking third place and winning the bronze medal at the finish line!
Given that GWI is a very prestigious meet that has had many of its alumni go on to become members of the USA Olympic Track and Field team, we look forward to the same thing occurring with our highly trained Sacramento High and PS7 Middle School student-athletes in the future.

- adidas Golden West Invitational brings together top high school athletes from throughout the country and provides them with the very highest levels of competition.
So, on this day of June 12th, along with their championship spirit, two very determined Sac High School Dragons brought glory and honor to the sport of track and field. And as a result, the Sac High T&F program is now having more students join the team and this will help build a very steady and positive T&F program at the school.
Both Sac High and the PS7 Middle School students now have an United States of America Track & Field (USATF) sanctioned Dragons Track Club (#407) that they can join.
You can be sure that in Club #407 the students will learn the basic fundamentals of the sport, get good training while learning their craft, so much so that they can teach others and they'll have fun while doing it - from day one!
All we want to say now is: Go Dragons!
